It feels like late fall/early winter today. It's depressing. I dont see how anyone could like the colder months. All its good for is cuddling up with the one you love, and you can do that when its in the upper 60's just as well as you can when its in the low 40's. Seeing as my love is about 3 hours away, I'm stuck inside cuddling with my body pillow. It doesnt quite have the same appeal.
Cold weather strips you of your energy. You dont want to go out and enjoy the nice breeze or bask in the sun or even drive around town with the windows down. No, you're stuck inside bundled up in all the blankets you brought back to school with you. And since you didnt think it would get this cold before you went home in October, you only brought one blanket. Not to mention the heat doesnt work yet because the whole building is still set on AC.
I hate when it starts getting cold. I mean its all fine and dandy when your celebrating Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Thats when your supposed to cuddle by the fire sipping hot tea or hot cocoa. Unfortunately the cold doesnt not leave when you take down the Christmas decor. I feel as though I would not despise winter temps if they truly came and went with the holiday season. But instead it stays bitter untill well after Spring Break.
I havent even mentioned snow yet. Everyone always says they love winter because they can make snowmen and go sledding and have snowball fights. I like snow only when its falling form the sky. Let it fall and settle so I can take pretty pictures and then make it go away. Classes arent even cancled when it snows, so it's one big death trap trying to make you cold and wet which brings you back to wrapping up in your room trying to conserve your body heat.
And there's something about cold weather and snow that make relationships go to Hell in a hand-basket. If you remember the snow-pocalypse of 2009-10, then you know what I'm talking about. EVERYBODY broke up that year. Not a single relationship was safe. We all got severe cabin fever and went crazy. But as soon as it started warming up again, love was back in the air.
I really hope that doesnt happen this year. I'm afraid it might since winter has began to show early this year. I'd really like it if this year was a repeat of last year. Last year it started to get cold around November, snowed on Christmas day, and by the end of January there was the nice smell of Spring. Would it be too much to ask to have two perfect years in a row? I sure hope not.
